
Joanne Travaglia is a sociologist with a specialisation in health services research, focusing on the implications of patient and clinician vulnerability and diversity on the safety and quality of care. She is currently working on research projects relating to vulnerability and patient safety, professional collaboration and leadership, healthy workplace environments, and consumer engagement. Her interests lie in the application of critical perspectives and critical theory to the creation of patient safety knowledge and practice.
